Internet
Currently being provided by Studio, LLC using their own 7/2 cable modem from Time Warner.
With help from XactIT, we will be getting our own 7/2 cable modem sometime in the month of January. Any time from now until the end of days we will be getting a fiber connection from Time Warner (initially) limited to 10Mbit up and down.
Router/Firewall
Currently we are using pfSense as the primary router and firewall for all intranet and Internet functions.
VLANs
The Intranet is split into many VLANs to ensure proper isolation of various networked equipment.
Wiring
There are plans for approx 30 wired ports each in the workshop and lounge areas. About 1/2 of this is wired. We have some of the wire needed and all of the ports and patch panels for this phase. There are also a few ports planned for the quite room. Future expansion of the network into the presentation room is also planned. A design, and all equipment for this phase is still needed. Room is already allocated on the patch panel. Also planned is the possible move of the patch panel into one of the enclosed racks and the subsequent repatching of the entire network.
Supplies needed:
- several spools of cat5/5e/6 wire.
- a suitable set of ports for presentation room. (would wall mount/pole/floor mount be best?)
